Abstracts & Presentations Structure


1. Abstracts should be no more than 250 words in length—not including Title, Authors, or Companies & Institutions. This limit includes all text, spaces, and punctuation.

2. The text of the abstract should consist of a single paragraph. The abstract should be factual and informative. It should adequately summarize the work to be presented, including results and conclusions. Do not indicate, "results will be presented."

3.Take care to make sure that all italics, superscript, subscript, and any special characters are in place before submitting an abstract.

Presentation Structure

1. There is no specific limit in the number of pages for the presentation
The limit will be on the time given for the exposition . Namely 20 minutes and ten minutes for questions

2.- The format to be used shall be Power Point *.pptx

EICF Workshop celebrated at AMRC Sheffield University

Friday 15th May 2015

The engineering workshop celebrated at the University of Sheffield AMRC-KTC was very well attended with a number close to 100 delegates from more than 13 European Countries.

Lectures were given at the KTC auditorium with presentations of great interest as per delegates valuation, covering the practical aspects of Method Engineering and Process Modelling via practical Case studies.

The visit to Castings Technology International performed on the second workshop day was very well appreciated by delegates for the technologies reviewed and the solutions offered by Cti in supporting industry to achieve its technical and economic objectives

Social and networking was covered by a private visit to the Kelham Island Museum of significant interest to delegates. The roots of industrial metallurgy were historically reviewed. The workshop dinner at the museum was the perfect scenario to finalize the day in the company of friends and colleagues.

EICF Chief Executive Appointed

Sunday 15th June 2014

The EICF Board of Directors unanimously appointed Dr Carlos Olabe as Chief Executive of the EICF. Dr Olabe was Chief Executive of Precicast Bilbao for many years. He was also President of the EICF from 2006 until 2010 and brings significant management experience to the Federation.

New President and Vice President Elected

At the Federation’s AGM the 2013 Board Members were re-elected on mass. Their names and contact details are on the Board Members section of this website.

The AGM elected Mr Michael Rünz (Kennametal Europe GmbH) as President of the EICF and Chairman of the Board. Mr Steve Irwin (Rolls-Royce plc) was elected Vice President. By convention both offices are for a two year term.
