He has been working for the german ZOLLERN Group for the last 25 years and is responsible for its investment casting activity in Portugal. Virgilio Oliveira has been an active member of the EICF Board of Directors for more than ten years.
Mr Ingo Bitzer
I have always enjoyed taking an active role in shaping changes within a company while optimizing its processes and procedures through new methods and technologies. Over the past seven years, I doubled the value of the Feinguss Blank Group and increased revenue from EUR 50 million to EUR 100 million while maintaining profitability. Moreover, we internationalized the BLANK Group with the founding and establishment of the subsidiary Feinguss Blank Inc. – securing access to the growth market USA.
Mr Emmanuel Falisse
Emmanuel Falisse is actively involved in the investment casting industry since 2014, as Managing Director of IMC – Industrial Marketing Corporation SA, operating from Belgium. For more than 30 years, IMC is cooperating with premium manufacturers to distribute equipment and materials, as well as technical services, exclusively dedicated to the investment casting industry in Europe. Before being in the Investment Casting industry, Emmanuel has been involved during 24 years as a financing partner in industrial projects in the energy, aerospace, maritime and infrastructure sectors worldwide. His responsibilities were primarily commercial and management, while being strongly implicated in the technicalities of these sectors. He also acquired technical knowledge in the plastic injection industry where his family was active.
Mr Ron Williams
Ron graduated in Chemistry, is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and as Managing Director of The Blayson Group Ltd is responsible for the Company’s global operations and activities. He has over 30 years’ experience within the investment casting industry and has had the privilege of working closely with numerous investment casting associations, institutes and companies Worldwide. He is currently a Board Director of the EICF. Combining these connections with his industry experience, he has been able to present numerous studies and reviews of the World investment casting market to a global audience.
Mr Julio Aguilar
Dr. Julio Aguilar is Senior Casting Expert at Safran, responsible for evaluation and validation of new casting technologies and materials. He is attached to the platform Safran Advanced Turbine Airfoils dedicated to the development of new generation single crystal high pressure turbine blades. After completing his bachelor metallurgical engineering studies at the National University of Mexico (UNAM) he worked eight years as foundry manager in Guatemala. He moved then to Germany where he obtained his M.Sc. and PhD at the Foundry Institute of RWTH Aachen University. Before joining Safran he was director of the TechCenter of Access e.V. in Germany, working mostly on investment casting technologies.
Mr Guillaume Noir
Guillaume Noir is the Deputy CEO of the company AMA Services based in Paris, which is the exclusive agent for the whole Europe of Cannon Muskegon. AMA Services is acting in Europe as an agent but also as a distributor for all Cannon Muskegon products, since more than 30 years under the direction of Mr Jean François Donchery. He’s got himself over 10 years of experience in the super alloys business at AMA. Graduated of the IAE Paris ( Management school attached to Sorbonne University), he was previously specialized in Mergers & Acquisitions and consultant in Management for medium companies.
Dr David Ford

David Ford was appointed EICF Secretary–General from 2002 until 2014, during this time the EICF doubled in membership and instigated annual technical workshops in addition to arranging international conferences. For members of the EICF there were opportunities to participated in research projects to acquire fundamental material data for process modelling, dimensional control, material and energy conservation. Before taking on the responsibilities of the EICF David was Chief of Casting Technology at Rolls-Royce which included the management of the Company R&D Foundry. This R&D foundry was fully equipped for both development and full-scale manufacture. Together with production facilities it contributed to the introduction of many of the advanced processes and materials for gas turbine manufacture. David has a doctorate in engineering, is a chartered engineer, a fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and a member of the Energy Institute. He was awarded the Douglas Armitage Young Engineer prize by BICTA in 1972 and the EJ Fox medal by the Institute of Cast Metals Engineers in 2016. He was appointed MBE by H.M. The Queen in her Birthday Honours in 2000 for services to aerospace.
Ms Ane Irazustabarrena
Ms. Ane Irazustabarrena. Master of Science. University of Kent (1991). Degree in Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (EHU-UPV) 1991. She works in European Programs in TECNALIA since 1998. She has been involved in the management of large scale collaborative projects linked to the advanced manufacturing technologies for clean production. Coordination of EDEFU FP7 nº 246335 for the design of Ecological furnaces, FOUNDENERGY, FP7 nº 285954 for the Waste Heat Recovery from Foundry sector and EFEVE FP7 nº314582 for the development of new nanoalloyed materials with energy efficient processes. Currently, Director of Public Funding Programmes within the Industry and Transport division. She is involved in the management structure of large initiatives as SPIRE PPP (Chair of Process working group) and EIT Raw Materials (Steering Commiee of CLC South). She is member of the EICF Board of Directors since 2016.
Mr Steve Irwin
Steve Irwin is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3) and a Rolls-Royce Associate Fellow. Steve has been extensively involved in the investment casting of both equaix and single crystal gas turbine components for the past 30 years. In his current role as Rolls-Royce Casting Specialist, Steve is responsible for the acquisition of a number of process & material technologies across Rolls-Royce's global network of domestic & joint venture foundries.
Mr Uri Joseph
Uri Joseph is the CEO of International Precision Casting Supplies, Ltd. and its affiliates. IPCS operates as a technical agents and distributers of materials specific to the investment casting industry. In this role, Uri manages both the commercial and technical aspects of the business, providing leadership and support for international technical sales across four continents, and oversees offices in the United States and the United Kingdom. With over 25 years of experience in the investment casting industry, Uri has been instrumental in the recommendation and implementation of process and product improvements to customers worldwide. Uri has an expansive background in the industry, which offers a unique blend of knowledge in waxes and ceramics shell systems.
Dr John Machielse
John Machielse went to the University of Amsterdam to finish his Master in Chemistry & Catalysis in 1992. In 1994 he finished a post-academic degree in Process Development at the University of Twente and also got his Master in Chemical Engineering. From 1994 until 2003 he was head of the R&D team at Byk-Cera BV, who produces wax additives for the paint & ink industry. Aer 5 years in marketing & sales in Honeywell’s synthetic wax department, he moved to Paramelt in 2009 to become Business Development manager for investment casting waxes. John Machielse is technically & commercially responsible in the European market for all Paramelt-Argüeso-Kindt Collins waxes related to the Investment casting industry.
Mr Mathew Marsh
Mathew is currently Commercial Director for Liberty Speciality Steels having joined the company earlier this year. Prior to this Mathew has held various positions within the metals, investment casting, casting and forging industries including Divisional Sales Director for Doncasters Superalloys, European Commercial Manager for Bradken (an Australian based casting and mining company) and Sheffield Forgemasters where he was Sales Manager for a number of years. Mathew has over 25 years’ experience in the Aerospace, Power Generation and Automotive industrial sectors. Having graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering he returned a few years later to complete an MBA in Marketing.
Mrs Magdalena Nizik
Ms Magdalena Nizik, a graduate of the National Louis University, experienced professional with solid background in industrial technologies and markets, innovation, general management, finance as well as government relations. She spent most of her professional career at General Electric working with the aviation, energy and oil & gas sectors. Since 2016, Ms Nizik has been managing Consolidated Precision Products in Poland dealing with precision casting for the aviation sector. Ms Nizik has also been the Scientific Council Member for the Institute of Aviation in Poland since 2017.
Mr John S Paraszczak
Mr. John S. Paraszczak is the President and CEO at REMET® Corporation since April 1999. He has been in Executive roles with various major international firms throughout his entire career. Following opportunities in multiple leadership positions with, IC Industries, LTV‘s Youngstown Sheet & Tube, Esmark Corp.’s Estech Oil, Swift Adhesives and National Wax Companies. Mr. Paraszczak rose to Vice President –International Sales in 1983, and has been an industry leader in the international business arena, with particular focus in the global precision investment casting industry since 1989. He served as President & CEO at Yates Investment Casting and Dussek Campbell-Yates International. Mr. Paraszczak serves as Chairman of the Board of Remet Corporation, and is a member of DePaul University’s College of LA & S Advisory Counsel. Mr. Paraszczak founded the “Shaping the Future” program in conjunction with the School of the Art Institute. He holds an M.B.A. from DePaul’s Kellstadt Business School and a Bachelor’s degree from DePaul University.
Mr Michael Rünz
Michael Ruenz is Chief Executive Officer of Deloro Group, a specialist wear solutions company comprising foundries, hot isostatic pressing and coating facilities throughout Europe. Deloro Group is part of Madison Industries, one of Americas largest and most successful privately held companies. Prior to this position, Mr. Ruenz held various positions in sales and general management roles for Kennametal Inc. in Europe focusing on Kennametal’s wear solutions business. Before joining Kennametal through a successful exit from a MBO/Private Equity ownership of Deloro Stellite, Mr. Rünz served as Managing Director of Deloro Stellite Holdings GmbH & Co KG, Deloro Stellite GmbH and Heiger Stellite GmbH and as a management shareholder, was an active part in the sale process and Due Diligence during exit. On the operational side he was responsible for the development of all business aspects of Deloro Stellite Group’s largest business including sales, finance, operations, quality and development and he also oversaw the Group's businesses in India and Italy which were both set up or acquired during his tenure. Mr. Rünz was the President and Managing Director of Deloro Stellite Group’s businesses in France (ATS Stellite and ATS Sferic) from 2002 until 2006 and President until the successful exit from this business to Marle/Carlyle in 2011. Mr. Rünz serves of the Board of Directors of the European Investment Casting Federation since 2004.
Mr Eugenio Salvaia
Eugenio Salvaia holds a degree in Mining Engineering obtained in 1992 and he has 25 years experience on Industrial Minerals. He has worked in underground and open pit mines of: talc, feldspar, quartz, silica and feldspatic sands, pegmatite, rhyolite etc…. and he has worked in the R&D for about 5 years. He has more than 10 years experience on sales in ceramic, glass, painting, metallurgy and foundry industries. He is member of the board of the European Investment Casters’ Federation. Since 2017 he is Foundry & Specialties Sales Director of Imerys Aluminates (former Imerys Refractory Minerals), member of Imerys Group, world leader in the production of high engineered mineral products for a large number of different industrial applications.
Mr Karl Szulakowski
Karl has worked in the refractory and metals industry for over 25 years. He started his career working as a Process Metallurgist at UES Steels before moving in to the refractories industry at Capital Refractories Limited, who specialise in Induction melting for both Air and Vacuum applications. This involved working in the steel sanding casting sector before moving into specialist ceramic shapes (crucibles, pour cups and precast shapes) for the investment casting & Superalloy manufacturers worldwide. Karl helped establish agencies and manufacturing facilities worldwide including Vietnam, India and the USA. He was also Sales Manager for the ceramic cores division at Capital Injection Ceramics Limited for over 6 years. In 2017 Karl joined Ross & Catherall Superalloys as Sales Manager where his metallurgical and refractory background in the investment casting industry allows him to offer customers the benefits of his varied experience and knowledge of the processes and requirements that the modern investment casting foundry requires from its suppliers.
Mr Amadeo Torrens
Mr. Amadeo Torrens Roig, is Spanish citizen and 60 years old. He has a degree In mechanical engineering (1984) and a MBA (1992). He spent the main part of his career in the aero engines sector (ITP Group) and from 2010 until 2017 he has been acting as CEO of PCB SA, a Spanish company part of RR Group. Since November 2017 Managing Director at GF Precicast SA, a Swiss company, part of Georg Fischer Casting Solution Group.
Dr Pam Murrell
As CEO of the Cast Metals Federation, CMF, the Trade Association for the UK castings Industry, Pam Murrell is actively engaged in representing and supporting CMF Members who are from the UK castings industry. The CMF is also the UK member of the European Foundry Association (CAEF) and Pam provides the secretariat for the Investment Casting Section or CAEF as well as supporting the Institute of Cast Metals Engineers, ICME, who are members of the World Foundry Organisation. Pam has a BSc Hons degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science from the University of Cardiff and them completed a PhD on Fracture and Fatigue at Cranfield University.
Mr Carlos Olabe
Carlos Olabe is the current CEO of the European Investment Casters Federation [EICF], serving this position since the end of 2014. Mr. Olabe has been linked to the aerospace industry for a period over 20 years. He served as Programmes Director of the Engine company of Spain (ITP) managing engine programmes such as EJ200, Trent 700, Trent 800, Trent 500, Trent 900 and as CEO of PCB, during 10 years. A brand new world class investment casting Company in Spain which he took the mission to create and project internationally. During this period Mr. Olabe was member of the Board of Directors of the EICF , being Chairman of the Federation for a period of 4 years supporting an interesting period of revitalization of the EICF and contributing personally to the establishment of the global circuit..... America / Europe / Far East for the celebrations of the IC World Conferences. Mr. Olabe background is an Engineer specialized in electricity and energy where he has devoted another 15 years of his profesional life in key managerial positions with experience in the field of nuclear equipments and lately renewables Mr. Olabe is a believer in cooperation and innovation as elements that enhance operations and achievements of organizations.
